For my sense of place project, I was inspired by the route my grandma took to work every day as a new immigrant in Los Angeles. Taking the same metro line she did, I hoped to capture the feeling of a journey on the subway, observing the various people on the line. My goal was to almost recapture the world my grandma may had experienced as an immigrant, observing the subway as a microcosm of Los Angeles, exploring the various people and relationships existing within the environment.
